Frederick County Farm Bureau Safety Camp! March 29, 2012

Filed under: Ag — karenthefarmersdaughter @ 11:04 am

Frederick County Farm Bureau Safety Camp will be held from June 21-23, 2012 for kids between the ages of 8 and 13!

It is held at the 4-H Camp Center in Jefferson, MD.

The theme of camp is S.A.F.E. which means staying accident free everyday!

Some of the lessons, demonstration and activities include fire safety (visits from a fire engine and a camp fire with smores and music), pool safety (kids have time to swim), hygiene safety (kids receive travel size soaps and other toiletries in their goody bag), tractor safety (PTO demonstration) and many more!

Camp is 2 nights and 3 days and only costs $25 per camper. All of their meals are supplied and they leave with a t-shirt, water bottle, glow in the dark FCFB Safety Camp and a goody bag filled with safety information and more.

Camp is funded by donations from members of the community. Any donations are a great help!

If you know any kids interested or would like to sponsor or know a potential sponsor, spread the word! 🙂

Registration forms and Sponsor forms for donations can be found on the Frederick County Farm Bureau website.

Pictures and links to the registration and donation forms can also be found on the Frederick County Farm Bureau Safety Camp Facebook Page!

Sunshine and Springtime! March 20, 2012

Sunshine and springtime means spring planting for farmers!

Be careful and watch for slow-moving farm equipment!

*Read the article from the Maryland Department of Agriculture: Motorists and farmers can share the road safely.

Well I know you got your own deadlines
But cussin’ me ain’t savin’ no time Hoss
This big-wheeled wide load ain’t goin’ any faster
So just smile and wave and tip your hat
To the man up on the tractor
